Senior Pastor Don Workman

Our senior pastor, Don Workman, has ministered at Faith since February 1991. Prior to becoming our pastor, he was senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Cincinnatus, New York. He began his pastoral ministry by serving in two assistant/youth pastorates, one in Horseheads, New York and then later in Willoughby, Ohio. He has been in full-time ministry since 1978.

He attended Cedarville University of Ohio, but later transferred and graduated from Baptist Bible College of PA. Here he met his wife, Beth, who also graduated from BBC with a Bachelors degree in Sacred Music (Vocal Performance).

Beth has started and has taught the Four Year Old Kindergarten at Northfield Baptist Christian School since 1994.  She also gives private voice lessons as well as continuing her own training at The Music Settlement in Cleveland, Ohio.  They have been married since August, 1978 and the Lord has blessed them with four children, two grandsons, and a grandaughther:

Sarah, a 2003 graduate of BBC of PA with a major in Elementary Education and serves with her husband Sam Burke (BBC, 2002) who is full time Student Ministries pastor at Hopevale Church (www.hopevale.org) in Saginaw, MI.  They previously served in Students Ministries in two large churches in Indiana.  They were married June 14, 2003 and became parents to Nicholas Samuel Burke on September 28, 2006 and Jonathon Matthew Burke on March 20, 2009.

Hannah, a 2005 graduate of BBC of PA with a major in Communications primarily in the area of writing.  She finished her Masters degree in English at the Western Oregon University in June, 2009.  She married Jon Young on June 11, 2005.  Jon is a 2003 graduate of BBC and received his Masters from a university in Kansas in June, 2009.  He has taught history, social studies, and is currently the Athletic Director and Dean of Students at the Brookings Harbor High School in Brookings, Oregon.  Hannah  taught for three years in this high school's English department, and they are both active in a local church and other outreach ministries.  They are the parents of Brooklyn Hannah, born to them on June 10, 2011.

Joshua, a 2008 graduate of BBC of PA  with a degree in Sports and Youth Ministries primarily through a local church.  He was a captain of the men's varsity basketball team where he earned NCCAA All - American honors. He is married to Emily (Hedges), also a 2008 BBC graduate in Education. They are both heavily involved with the student ministry at Heritage Baptist in Clarks Summit, PA where Joshua also plays in their worship band.  They live near Clarks Summit, PA where he works in the insurance industry and Emily teaches in the Carbondale School System.

Leah, is a 2010 graduate of BBC of PA majoring in Secondary Education (English.).  She was part of the select 16 voice "Chamber Singers" vocal group at BBC for three years, which included a ministry trip to Ireland to encourage pastors and churches there.  She also ministered with her church youth group in Japan in 2004.  She married Phil Stallard in July, 2010 and they reside in the Clarks Summit, PA area where she teaches high school English at Summit Christian Academy.

All have been involved in various capacities of ministry at Faith, and each has been on at least two short term missions experiences with their church, school, or college.

Pastor Workman has completed a Master's degree from Baptist Bible Seminary of PA, and continues additional graduate work.  He is certified as a trainer with Evangelism Explosion International, is an associate member of the Evangelical Theological Society as well as having training for other ministry areas. He has taught for several years a variety of courses with the Northeast Distance Learning program of the Moody Bible Institute as well as with the Baptist Bible Institute of the Greater Cleveland area.  His interests include fishing and other activities with his family, several sports (primarily basketball), "playing" the drums, and bargain hunting.

Our people here have appreciated his winsomeness, approachability, and sense of humor in addition to a firm commitment to the Word of God and the God of the Word. Our church has made several strides forward under his ministry, and we anticipate further advancement as we remain sensitive to God and have a heart for our community in which God has placed us.
